Abstract Introduction & Purpose: Hamstring injuries are among the most common and important injuries in many sports. This study aimed to investigate and accurately compare changes in the frequency spectrum of ground reaction force and other kinetic indices during the execution of a cutting maneuver between two groups of healthy male athletes and athletes with hamstring injuries accompanied by non-specific low back pain. Methods: This study was conducted in a cross-sectional and comparative manner, and its statistical population consisted of 36 male athletes aged 16 to 35 years, who were divided into two groups of 18, including athletes with simultaneous hamstring injury and chronic non-specific low back pain and healthy athletes. The frequency spectrum of the ground reaction force during the execution of the cutting maneuver was recorded and analyzed for both groups. Results: The frequency spectrum indices of the ground reaction force in injured athletes were significantly different from those of the healthy group. In the vertical component, the median frequency and frequency bandwidth were significantly reduced in the injured group. In the anterior-posterior direction, the number of essential harmonics in the injured group also showed a significant decrease. In the free moment component, both the number of essential harmonics and the median frequency were significantly lower in injured athletes than in the healthy group (P>0/05). Conclusion: The results showed that athletes with hamstring injuries and low back pain, despite receiving similar forces as healthy individuals, used a lower frequency and less complex movement pattern. These findings emphasize the need to pay attention to the quality of motor control in rehabilitation.
