The Effectiveness of Group Cognitive Hypnotherapy on Psychological well-being Referred to Residential and Semi-residential Addiction Recovery Centers

Abstract Background and aim: Substance abuse has led to a reduction in productivity and inefficiency in psychological issues, including psychological well-being among drug users. The aim of this study is to evaluate the effectiveness of group Cognitive Hypnotherapy on psychological well-being of residential and semi-residential addiction treatment centers in the city of Yasuj.
Methods: This study was quasi-experimental with pretest and post-test and control group. Number 40 patients were selected and sampling method was experimental and control groupsThe instrument used in this research were the Ryff Psychological well-being intervention group Cognitive Hypnotherapy was conducted on the experimental group, But no intervention  control group received nothing. Cognitive Hypnotherapy intervention model was carried out on the experimental group for 8 sessions for one hour once a week, but there was no intervention on control group. After the end of the intervention, both groups test was taken. In order to analyze the data collected from of the was used analysis covariance.
Results: Results showed that group Cognitive Hypnotherapy, psychological well-being leads to an increase in the experimental group compared with the control group at the significant level (p <0/001).   The mean pre-test score of Psychological well-being in the experimental group 37/80 ± 3/42 and in control group was 39/25 ± 2/86. Whereas the mean and standard deviation of Psychological well-being and post-test scores in the experimental group 66/45 ± 15/61 and in the control group was 39/15 ± 2/73.  
Conclusion: Group cognitive hypnotherapy can play-based an important role psychological well-being in promoting Take over Substance Abuse Patients.
