Abstract Background and Objective: Walking in active children requires precise coordination between the nervous, muscular, and sensory systems. The vestibular system, as one of the main components of dynamic balance, plays an important role in regulating posture and controlling lower limb movements. The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of vestibular system disturbances on the components of ground reaction force during the stance phase of walking in active children. Methods: The present study was conducted on 30 boys aged 7 to 11 years in Tehran who were selected for the study using convenience sampling. The subjects walked a 12-meter path in the laboratory under four different sensory conditions. Ground reaction force data were recorded and extracted through a force plate. The vertical, anterior-posterior, and medial-lateral components of ground reaction force were analyzed in the stance phase. Data analysis was performed using repeated measures ANOVA with a significance level of (p≤0.05). Findings: The results of the study showed that a significant effect was observed in the vertical (P=0.000), anterior-posterior (P=0.009), and medial-lateral (P=0.000) components of the ground reaction force. The findings of this study showed that vestibular disturbance significantly reduced the vertical component and increased fluctuations in the medial-lateral and anterior-posterior components of the ground reaction force. Conclusion: Vestibular disturbances cause significant changes in ground reaction force components during the stance phase of active walking in children. These findings highlight the importance of assessing vestibular function and designing rehabilitation interventions based on multisensory stimulation in improving the quality of walking in children
