Background and Aims: Thalassemia major is a chronic genetic blood disease. This disease causes fatigue in people and affects different aspects of these people's lives. Therefore, this study was conducted with the aim of determining the effect of the intervention based on Participatory Care Model on fatigue status patients with major
Materials and methods: In this single-blind randomized controlled clinical trial, 90 patients with thalassemia major referring to the thalassemia department of Shahid Beheshti Yasuj Hospital were investigated. and control were divided, first, the test to determine the score of the fatigue state was taken from two groups, and then for the intervention group, training based on the collaborative care model was held during 8 sessions of 90 minutes. Data analysis was done using SPSS 20 software and statistical tests of chi-square, independent t, and paired t. The significance level was p<0/05
Findings: The average score of the fatigue state between the two intervention and control groups after the intervention did not change significantly compared to before the intervention, and after the intervention, there was no significant difference in the score of fatigue dimensions between the two test and control groups. (P>0/05).
Conclusion: The results of the present study showed that after the completion of the research interventions in the experimental and control groups, the changes in the overall average score of fatigue in patients with thalassemia major were not statistically significant (P>0/05). Based on this, the collaborative care model does not improve the fatigue of patients with thalassemia major.
