Different drugs and methods are used to treat this disease, nevertheless there is still no cure. The aim of this study was to compare the therapeutic effect of topical Minoxidil 2% solution in the treatment of alopecia areata on the scalp with rosemary solution. Methods: The present clinical-trial study was conducted on 78 patients with Alopecia Areata. Block randomization was designed in two groups of four Minoxidil 2% (n=39) and Rosemary (n=39). During the initial evaluation, patients were assessed in terms of location, number and extent of lesions by a dermatologist, and then the data were recorded. Patients in the intervention group were administered rosemary, as well as those in the control group were given Minoxidil 2%. The patients were instructed to apply the medication to the lesion twice a day. The lesion was re-evaluated two months later. Data were analyzed using SPSS version 18 as well as T-test and Chi-square test and descriptive statistics. Results: There were no significant differences in terms of mean age, mean duration of disease, and alopecia conflict in the patients of two groups (p>0.05). There was no significant difference in cure rates between the two groups (05/0 p>0.05). Conclusions: The findings of this study revealed that both Rosemary and Minoxidil had the same effects on alopecia areata. Materials and methods: In the present clinical trial study, sixty patients candidate for PCNL were randomly divided into two equal groups. In the first group, the standard procedures was performed in the supine position and after turning the patients the prone position were preformed for second group. In both groups, in recovery after operation, the patients’ satisfaction from position during operation was checked by the Beck scale. Two weeks later, the patients were admitted and success was evaluated with ultrasound and KUB. Collected data were analyzed using the SPSS software. Results: Hospitalization duration in supine was 2/44±1/02 and for Peron was 2/12 ±0/56 days (p>0/05) respectively. The satisfaction level of supine position and the Peron position were 89.7 and 61.3 respectively. There was a significant differences was seen (p=0.018). The efficacy and cleanup of stones in both supine and prone were 69% and 58.4% respectively (p=0.19). This study is conducted to examine the frequency of EBV in HIV/AIDS sufferers and compare it with non-sufferers and examine its correlation with the number of CD4+ lymphocytes. Methods: In a case-control, prospective study, two 114-member groups (patients with and without human immunodeficiency virus) of equal sex and age – one group suffering from HIV – were assessed for the presence of IgG antibody against EBV capsid virus and the number of CD4+ lymphocytes and the results were analyzed based on the objectives of the study. Results: A total of 103 (90.4%) of HIV-positives and 37 (32.5%) of control group were tested positive for EBV-VCA IgG (p value = 0.001). The amount of antibody and the number of CD4+ lymphocytes were in a meaningful and reverse relationship (p value = 0.0003). There was no meaningless difference between the presence of EBV-VCA IgG antibody and the age and sex of patients, transmission of virus and receiving HAART anti-virus treatment (p value>0.05) Conclusion: Due to complications of acute EBV virus and its high frequency in HIV patients, these patients are strongly recommended to be examined for EBV infection after diagnosis in a bid to prevent more mortality and morbidity. The purpose of this study was to investigate the protective effect of these two vitamins on the effects of lead toxicity on learning ability. Methods: The present experimental study was conducted on thirty-two male Wistar rats divided in groups of 8, including a control group received no lead and vitamins, the group received water containing lead (0.2%), the group received water containing lead plus vitamin C and final group received water containing lead and vitamin E. Materials were used in mice by gavage daily for 3 months. Morris water maze device was used to assess spatial memory. Measures of spatial learning and memory were assessed using ANOVA. Result: Time for finding the platform (s) during the training phase in the lead group plus vitamin E and vitamin C was lesser than the lead group alone. Also in the retrieval and working memory tests, both groups lead plus vitamin E and lead plus vitamin C, a significant difference in the percentage of the elapsed time in the target quadrant and the average time to find the platform (s) in the fourth day of having lead was observed (p <0.05). Methods: In the present experimental study, forty male Wistar rats weighing170-250g were randomly divided into four groups, including control and three experimental groups. The control group received distilled water and three experimental groups received 300, 400 and 600mg valerian root extract daily respectively for two weeks by gavage. Phsophotangestic acid staining was used to examine astrocytes. The size and number of astrocytes were calculated with LS.starter software. Data were analyzed, using SPSS software for statistical analysis and ANOVA and LSD tests. Results: The mean number of astrocytes in the experimental groups of three and four with the control group and experimental two showed a significant increase (P <0.05). Compare mean of great length of astrocytes in experimental groups of two, three and four with the control group showed a significant decrease and between the experimental group two and experimental groups of three and four a statistically significant differences were observed (P <0.05).
